‘Doesn’t know Anything about cricket’: Shahid Afridi makes a Shocking revelation about PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi

In an interaction with Samaa TV, Shahid Afridi revealed that Mohsin Naqvi told him that he knows nothing about cricket. He also took a shot at selectors and directors.

The chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is Mohsin Naqvi, who took this place earlier last year. He was in-charge for Pakistan hosting their first ICC event in 29 years. However, under his leading, Pakistan witnessed one of their worst time in cricketing history.

Pakistan team has seen lot of star players not performing well, and leading to unexpected outcomes. The Men in Green first got eliminated from the group stage in the 2024 T20 World Cup. The same outcome was seen in the Champions Trophy 2025, as the team got eliminated in the league-matches. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has now made a shocking statement about Mohsin Naqvi.

In an interaction with Samaa TV, Shahid Afridi claimed Mohsin Naqvi revealing to him that he did not know anything about cricket. Afridi even took a shot to the selectors and directors, claiming that they are all bureaucrats who have no knowledge about the game.

“I met the chairman sahab a few days ago in Lahore. The initiative about the grounds, the work done at the Gadaffi stadium, is pretty good and pretty beautiful. He has worked, and he wants to work further. But he also says that he doesn’t know anything about cricket. When you don’t know cricket, then you should work with good, technical people who have some connection with the sport,” Afridi claimed.

“The faces we are seeing in the selection committee and directors, they don’t know cricket; they have all been bureaucrats. What is their relation with cricket? Why are they sitting in the selection committee? Why are they running the domestic cricket system? Everyone’s seeing the Pakistan team, you should strengthen the domestic cricket structure. If the guardian is good, the child will automatically be good,” he added.

Following the Champions Trophy, a presentation ceremony was held, where no PCB official showed up. Even though the ICC has stated that they had called only the PCB Chairman, the PCB is reported to now protest against the cricket governing body.
