India coach Duncan Fletcher flew out on Tuesday night to attend his mothers funeral in Cape Town. India’s Zimbabwean coach lost his mother earlier this week.

The Indian team’s media manager Dr RN Baba informed that Fletcher will rejoin the Indian squad in Birmingham, just ahead of their last ICC Champions Trophy 2013 group B league match against Pakistan on June 15.

India are already in the semi-finals while Pakistan are out of the tournament after two defeats.

Fletcher joined as Indian coach on a two-year contract after Gary Kirsten guided India to the ICC World Cup 2011. The BCCI in April this year has extended Fletcher’s contract by a year.
