Eight Pakistan players undergo physical tests for selection ahead of West Indies tour

Eight Pakistan players underwent physical tests for selection in the national team ahead of the series against the West Indies at the National Cricket academy (NCA) in Lahore on Thursday.

Among the eight players to have appeared for the tests, only two – Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Irfan – were part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 team. According to sources, coach Dav Whatmore had recommended the two players for fitness test.

The other cricketers who underwent the fitness tests on Thursday included Haris Sohail, Sohaib Maqsood, Raza Hasan, Zulfiqar Babar, Usman Qadir and Sharjeel Khan, according to a report in Express Tribune.

The tour involving three One-Day internationals (ODI) and two T20 Internationals against West Indies is scheduled to start on July 7.
