An all-round performance by Ellyse Perry helped the Australia Women bag their first win of the Twenty20 International (T20I) series against India Women at Sydney. India Women had already won the series after the second T20I earning consecutive victories in the first two matches and were looking for a whitewash as Perry got into action with both bat and ball to help her side finish the series on a high note as they registered a 15-run victory in the match. The series will be followed by a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Australia Women vs India Women, 3rd T20I at Sydney

India started off quite well as their ace bowler Jhulan Goswami bagged her first wicket off the very first delivery of the innings and Alyssa Healy departed for a golden duck. Australia skipper Meg Lanning then took the crease and settled things down a little with Beth Mooney. The partnership between Mooney and Lanning added 49 runs and remained the highest partnership of the innings. Lanning departed scoring 26 off 25, with the help of a four and a couple of sixes while Mooney scored a run-a-ball 34. Full Cricket Update, India Women vs Australia Women 2015-16, 3rd T20I at Sydney

Australia Women then lost a few wickets back to back. A brilliant direct hit helped the Indians to run out Grace Harris following a classic six while Jess Jonassen made 6 off 11. The most important innings was played by Ellyse Perry. Perry stayed there at the crease amidst random fall of wickets at the other end as she went on to score 55 off 41. She hit 4 fours and three huge sixes in the process and remained unbeaten to take the score to 136 with the loss of 5 wickets in their 20 overs.

For India, Rajeshwari Gayakwad took two wickets while Jhulan Goswami and Deepti Sharma both took a wicket each.

India, coming out to bat, looked quite helpless. Skipper Mithali Raj, despite her injury, decided to open. Raj changed the winning combination and sent Smriti Mandhana down at No. 4. The strategy failed as India Women went on losing wickets back to back. Raj departed making a run-a-ball 12. Vellaswamy Vanitha and Veda Krishnamurthy then settled things a bit for the visitors. Vanitha scored a 25-ball 28 with the help of 3 fours and a six while Krishnamurthy hit a four and a six to score a run-a-ball 21.

The Indian side saw some power shots from Harmanpreet Kaur as she hit a four and a couple of sixes to reach her 24. The lower order could not do anything mentionable afterwards as India’s innings came to an end with 121 runs on the board with the loss of 8 wickets.

It was an Ellyse Perry show altogether as after her unbeaten 55, she went on to take four crucial wickets. She gave away only 12 runs for the wickets and registered her career best figure in the match. Rene Farrell also displayed good bowling taking 2 for 18. The other two successful bowlers for Australia were Grace Harris and Jess Jonassen who took a wicket each.

Perry was named the Player of the match while Jhulan Goswami received the Player of the Series.
