Sri Lankan batter Pathum Nissanka has created history on September 9, as he has become the first player in Test cricket history to score half-centuries in both the innings with a strike-rate of over 100 in a Test match being played in England.

No player before Nissanka had made half-century in the same strike-rate above 100 since 1880.

Nissanka has proven himself as the difference between both sides with the bat. In first innings, he scored quick 64 run in 51 balls, where his first half century was scored in 41 balls.

In the second innings, Nissanka started his play and continued to attack the English bowlers. He hit another half-century, which again came quickly in just 42 balls.
