IPL auction will reportedly will held in Jaipur this time

For the Indian Premier League 2019, the England and Australian players will only be available till May 1 after which they will return to start preparations for the ICC World Cup. Even though the schedule for the season is yet to be released, the annual league is expected to start from the last week of March and continue till the third week of May.

The World Cup, to be hosted by England, starts from May 30.

England host Ireland for a one-off ODI (May 3) and then Pakistan for one T20I and followed by a five-match ODI series (From May 5-9).

According to Mumbai Mirror, the various IPL franchisees have been unofficially informed about the English and Australian players. There is still no clarity on the exact venue of IPL 2019 due to the General Elections in India scheduled to be held next year.

South Africa and UAE, which have played hosts in the past under similar circumstances, are being touted as the possible overseas venues.

The teams, though, would be happy if the venue is zeroed in upon ahead of the auction as they will go for the players accordingly.

“We wanted the auction to be conducted after the venue is known so that we could have chosen our players accordingly but the BCCI has its own timelines to follow,” a franchise official was quoted as saying by the daily on Tuesday.

The report further claims that the players auction will be held in Jaipur.

While the New Zealand players will be available till the end of the league, other cricket boards are yet to clarify their stance.
