Even after 3 years after his retirement from international cricket, cricket fans cannot get over Sachin Tendulkar. Recently, former British Prime Minister David Cameron commented that he would like to kidnap the maestro and take him to help the England cricket team. England are yet to register their first victory on Indian soil in the ongoing series, and the hosts have the edge, having won consecutive Tests. Cameron, mentioning about the situation, said he would kidnap Tendulkar for the team’s training. India and England will play the fourth Test at Mumbai, starting from December 8.
As reported by sportswallah.com, Cameron said, “Given the way the Test series (between the two countries) is going… we need to kidnap him (Tendulkar)… for training.” Earlier, Cameron had met the cricketing legend back in 2011 when India toured England. He had spent a few hours at The Oval before meeting Tendulkar in the Indian dressing room. “It’s an honour to have met with and spoken to (Sachin) Tendulkar… I’ve been his fan,” he was quoted by The Telegraph. Talking about the meeting, the cricketer later revealed, “The Prime Minister had just come to say hello… He said that I was welcome in the UK anytime.”
Cameron had admitted he is a fan of Tendulkar just like the rest of the world. “He is the greatest of all times. He’s an extraordinary cricketer…a fantastic player. If you look who has done more to inspire the young cricketers, he has done well in that,” he had said to The Hindu while wishing him for his 200th Test during his visit to India in 2013.
