England spinner Graeme Swann has no doubt about the batting prowess of his teammates Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott but he wouldn’t pay to watch them as he considers them the ‘ugliest’ top-three in the world.
Swann said he would be happy to have the trio in his team but won’t watch them bat, instead he enjoys the batting of strokemakers Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior and Ian Bell.
“I’m not a great watcher of cricket, but when Cook and Trott are batting my god I struggle to keep my eyes open. I will always watch KP as well but Cook, Strauss and Trott, if there is an uglier top three in the world I don’t know of it,” Swann told reporters.
“I adore the fact they love batting and bat all the time but I would happily watch an Ian Bell, or Matt Prior,” he added.
Despite not liking the way they bat, Swann said they are an asset to any side and he would happily shell out money to keep them in the team.
“But they are amazing and I would not change any of it. I wouldn’t pay to get in and watch them but I’d happily pay their salaries,” he said.
