England may have pulled off a historic Ashes victory in Australia but its World Cup chances are bleak, feels former Australian batsman and member of the 1999 World Cup-winning side Mark Waugh.
Waugh feels England would make an early exit from marquee tournament. “Their form has been ordinary. I know that Anderson didn’t play and Broad didn’t play much in Australia, but I just think they’re the team most likely, in my opinion, to maybe get knocked out,” Waugh was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.
The former stylish top-order batman feels the injury-induced absence of Eoin Morgan is a big blow for England. “I think Eoin Morgan is a huge loss for them; he’s their best one-day player,” he said.
Waugh, however, believes Bangladesh would progress to the quarter-finals and picked Australia as the dark horse for the mega event.
