Winning the toss, Angelo Mathews invited England to bat first. England started off well but saw a minor collapse as debutant, Dasun Shanaka along with Shaminda Eranga consumed half of their side. Reeling at 83 for 5, Jonny Bairstow and opener Alex hales prevented further damage to the side as they played aggressively and to post an unbeaten 88* run stand for the sixth wicket.
On a tough wicket with some assistance to the pacers, England will like to add more to their total and post a respective first innings score to break havoc Sri Lanka’s inexperienced batting line-up. On the other hand, visitors, Sri Lanka, will try to dismiss the hosts for a paltry score and gain some momentum while they come out to bat.
