Eoin Morgan added a feather to his cap when he became the first England captain to register four or more 50-plus scores in One-Day Internationals (ODI) on Thursday. Morgan achieved the feat when he hit a 110-ball 113 during the fourth ODI between England and New Zealand at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, which played a pivotal role in guiding England to a famous seven-wicket victory. New Zealand rode on vital knocks by Kane Williamson (90), Grant Elliott (55), Martin Guptill (53) and Mitchell Santner (44) to finish on a score of 349 for seven. Given the dominance that the England batsmen had displayed throughout the ODI series, the target was never going to be out of reach for the hosts. Alex Hales (67) and Jason Roy (38) added a quickfire 100-run opening partnership, before the 198-run stand between Morgan and Joe Root (106 not out) drained all hopes of a win for the Black Caps.
