Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif said that the appointment of Jay Shah as the chairman of International Cricket Council (ICC) will be of help for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He also said that Jay Shah might put effort in sending the Indian team to Pakistan to play the 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan is going to host the Champions Trophy for which BCCI is yet to decide if they want to send team India to the neighbouring nation for the tournament.
The last tine India travelled to Pakistan was in 2008 for the Asia Cup. Since then, India has not travelled to Pakistan for any series. This is because of political tensions and safety of players.
“PCB has not opposed Shah’s appointment for a reason. I think there’s an understanding. If India’s team comes, it will be because of Jay Shah’s efforts, along with support from their government.”
Rashid said that the decision made by BCCI in sending India to Pakistan is half granted and India is going to come to Pakistan for the event.
