South Africa batsman Faf du Plessis reached his tenth One-Day International (ODI) half-century as South Africa reached 122 for the loss of four wickets after 28.3 overs. du Plessis took an easy single to bring up his sixth fifty-plus score since July to extend his golden run with the bat.
du Plessis walked in at a time when the Proteas were reeling at a score of 26 for the loss of two wickets. He then managed to rally a useful 70-run third-wicket stand to put his side of of danger for the time. His 87-ball innings has been a patient one so far as he has managed to send only three deliveries towards the covers for a boundary. With his sights set on a fourth one-day century, a lot will depend on his skills to guide South Africa to a challenging total, which is not within an arm’s reach as yet.
