Winning the toss, India A elected to bat first. They started off quite slow, as they had only 10 runs on the board even after five overs. The openers, Faiz Fazal and Murali Vijay, started hitting boundaries in every over for the following few overs and eventually the partnership grew strong. The first-wicket partnership added 162 runs and Faiz Fazal’s half century came faster compared to the start. Fazal reached his half-century with a six while Vijay got to his half-century with a single. India B bowler Nathu Singh provided his team the first breakthrough as he removed Murali Vijay for 69. Next in, Naman Ojha, also departed early. Faiz Fazal completed his century but left the crease soon after in a terrible run out. The next few batsmen could not do anything except Kedar Yadhav, who stayed at the crease till the end while wickets kept falling at the other end. Jadhav went on to score an unbeaten 39-ball 58 with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes and India A finished at 286/7 after their 50 overs.
For the India B side, Dhawal Kulkarni and Nathu Singh got a couple of wickets each. While Kulkarni gave away 31 runs and bowled a maiden over finishing with an economy of 3.10, Nathu Singh remained a bit costly giving 58 runs. Baba Aparajith and Stuart Binny also bagged a wicket each.
Brief Scores:
India A 286 for 7 in overs 50 ( Faiz Fazal 100, Murali Vijay 69; Dhawal Kulkarni 2 for 31) vs India B
