MS Dhoni plays in the IPL at the shocking age of 43, and continues to amaze his fans with his lightning-fast wicketkeeping skills. During the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the veteran gave another show of his super fast skills behind the stumps.
Aakash Chopra, who is a former cricketer-turned-commentator, praised Dhoni, stating that his hands defy physics and his hands move only in the direction of the stumps, and that he is the only player in the world to execute such kind of stumping.
“He’s simply remarkable. The fastest hands in the game–when we talk about speed, the definition is now ‘fast, faster, MS Dhoni.’ We always say, ‘Don’t try this at home’ because what he does is truly unique. Fundamentally, in fielding, the hands naturally move backward upon receiving the ball to absorb impact. Otherwise, the ball spills out due to the hardness of the hands. But Dhoni defies this logic. His hands move in just one direction–toward the stumps. There’s only one player in the world who can execute that kind of stumping with such precision, and that’s MS Dhoni,” Aakash stated on JioHotstar.

These remarks by Aakash had come in when Phil Salt was caught off-guard by Dhoni’s reflexes. A delivery outside off saw Salt going slightly off balance, and Dhoni had done his work by the time anyone could understand what had happened. In the blink of an eye, Dhoni took the ball and hit the stumps, leaving the batter and everyone else stunned.
