Sydney: MS Dhoni maintained his composure after India’s exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Known as ‘Captain Cool’, Dhoni never lets the situation get to him. In victory and in defeat, he is the same. For him, life goes on and he leaves matters on the field. Thus, when he met the media after the defeat, he came up with some witty answers, although he was yet to come to terms with the defeat to Australia. Here are some of the wittiest things said by Dhoni in the post-match press conference:
On possible retirement: “It’s up to you guys. The media should do a nice research on it, take a few days, and my advice will be whatever you decide, write the complete opposite, yeah, that will be the fact. It’s up to you guys.” READ:Australia crush by India by 95 runs, qualify for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final
About his legacy as a one-day captain and player: “You know, frankly for me, it doesn’t really matter. For me every time I turn up, for me what’s important is to do something special so that I can be part of or I can contribute to the win.” India vs Australia Semi-Final: Australian innings highlights
On Dr RN Baba, the Indian media manager: “Dr. Baba is quite strict over here, but with us inside it’s quite friendly. I keep telling him, if the media is happy with you, then you are not a good media manager.” India vs Australia Semi-Final: Indian innings highlights
On the long stay in Australia: “It’s a very long tour, over four months at one place; another 20 days and we can apply for citizenship.”
On losing the World Cup semi-final: “Well, it’s something that doesn’t really belong to anyone. We definitely took it from someone, so somebody took it from us. It’s as simple as that.” Full Scorecard: India vs Australia, ICC World Cup 2015 Semi-Final 2 at Sydney
