The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially decided to add spinner Varun Chakaravarthy to the Indian team’s ODI squad. Varun has already joined the Indian camp in Nagpur for the upcoming first ODI of the three-match ODI series against England. The star KKR player got his maiden ODI call after his impressive performance in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series against England, where he took 14 wickets.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has added Varun Chakaravarthy to India’s squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against England. Varun picked 14 wickets, which included a five-wicket haul in Rajkot in the recently concluded 5-match T20I series against England. He was also the player of the series for his stellar bowling performance. Varun has joined the ODI squad in Nagpur,” BCCI said in their official statement.
Varun Chakaravarthy was seen training with the ODI squad on February 4. The Indian side has started getting ready for the three-match series, set to begin February 6. The star spinner was also spotted bowling bowling in the nets at Nagpur’s Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.
