Former cricketer Atul Wassan was today assaulted allegedly by the bodyguards of a minister at Delhi-Gurgaon toll plaza early this morning, police said.

Former cricketer Atul Wassan was on Thursday assaulted allegedly by the bodyguards of a minister at Delhi-Gurgaon toll plaza early this morning, police said.

 

Wassan was returning to his Gurgaon house when the incident took place at around 1:30 am. According to Wassan, he was returning to Gurgaon when he saw a convoy of some minister at Rajokri flyover. He overtook the car from left after crossing the Rajokri flyover.

 

Wassan alleged that one of the cars in the convoy then chased him. When he stopped his car at toll plaza, he alleged, four men entered in his car forcefully and beat him up. He complained to Delhi Police.

 

A senior police official said they have conducted his medical examination and forwarded the complaint to Gurgaon police since the area where incident took place fell in their jurisdiction.

 

Police are now analyzing the footage of cameras installed at toll plaza to identify the persons who attacked Wassan.

 

No case has been registered.
