He has the Rajput swagger. He prefers being referred as Ravindrasinh Anirudhsinh Jadeja. Some continue calling him Sir Jadeja. From a troll-favourite to the No. 1 bowler as well as No. 1 all-rounder in Test cricket, Ravindra Jadeja’s rise is much like his Rajput folklores. He loves riding horses. He clicks selfies with lions. He can give you those much needed brisk runs at the end.He can block if necessary. He can turn it square or dart-in snorters; and not to forget he is the best all-round fielder. And then those sword-fencing celebrations while reaching milestones. Recently, Jadeja mentioned about the role of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli as skippers in shaping up his career. Jadeja bowled India to a win in the Colombo Test to help India take the series 2-0. However, he has been handed one Test-match suspension for breaching ICC’s code of conduct.
This post is about Jadeja’s favourites. A report from Cricket Today magazine lists out several of Jadeja’s favourites. When asked about his favourite cricketer, Jadeja surprised all by naming Yuvraj Singh, the very cricketer he was chosen above in the 2015 World Cup. Coincidentally, both Yuvraj and Jadeja are all-rounders who bat left-handed and bowl left-arm orthodox.
Jadeja called London his favourite city and Punjabi his favourite cuisine. Note, he is a Gujarati who hails from Rajkot. While cricket is his first love as sport, football follows next.
Bollywood
Cricket and Bollywood have had its share of romance. Jadeja called the Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge as his favourite movie. But he called Emraan Hashmi as his favourite actor. Among actress, Jadeja termed Anushka Sharma as his favourite. Kohli now has more reasons to term Jadeja ‘precious’.
