Sourav Ganguly will play his first game in IPL 2011 for Pune Warriors India in the ongoing Indian Premier League against Deccan Chargers on Tuesday, skipper Yuvraj Singh informed.
“Sourav will be playing in the next game,” Yuvraj told reporters at a felicitation ceremony. Ganguly, who was bought by Pune to replace injured Ashish Nehra, went unsold in the auctions for the fourth edition.
His inclusion in the Pune side came as a relief to many as the IPL debutant team went into slump, losing seven matches on a streak.
The Pune captain stated that Ganguly missed last two matches due to lack of practise. “I have never seen him prepare like this even for a Test match,” he said on Sunday.
