Garry Sobers’ ‘six sixes’ ball set to be auctioned

The ball that was smashed for six consecutive sixes by Garry Sobers in a first-class County match in 1968 is set to go up for sale in Etwall.

Sobers had hit Malcolm Nash for six sixes during the match between Nottinghamshire and Glamorgan. The ball will be sold by Hansons auctioneers in Etwal, Derbys as reported by The Daily Express.

Sobers was the first man to achieve the rare feat. It was later emulated by Ravi Shastri, Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh.

Regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of cricket, Sobers was later accorded the title of being one of the ten National Heroes of Barbados.
