Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after being asked to bat first by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper Murali Vijay batted clinically to reach 164 for 3 in their quota of 20 overs. Openers Gautam Gambhir and Robin Uthappa made good use of the batting track bringing 101 run stand for the first wicket. Gambhir and Uthappa were slow to start with but slowly picked up the pace in due time. Gambhir notched up his half-century in 42 balls which included 4 boundaries and a massive six. Uthappa on the other hand was slow to begin with contributing 46 runs to the partnership. Gambhir was unluckily run-out for 54 in a bid to go for a single. Coming in at No.3 Yusuf Pathan showed his batting belligerency hitting a rather slow 16-ball 19.  Live Cricket Scorecard:Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2016 Match 32 at Eden Gardens

Uthappa continued his good run with the bat since then, smashing the bowlers all around the park.He brought his fifty in style with a boundary off Sandeep Sharma in just 38 balls. Uthappa was also run-out as Yusuf Pathan denied a single, leading the bowler Mohit to hit the stumps on the non-striker end with him more than half way down the pitch. Uthappa struck 49-ball 70 with 6 four’s and 2 sixes. Uthappa and Pathan had a 36 run stand for the second wicket.  Full Cricket Updates: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2016 Match 32 at Eden Gardens
