Glenn Maxwell laughed on the report of Shaun Marsh being sent back home because he had a brawl with his Kings XI Punjab teammate in the dressing room in between Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 season. The rumour about Marsh being sent back home due to a brawl with a teammate broke on Friday.“Hahaha just saw a report that Shaun Marsh was sent home because of a brawl with a KXIP teammate, not because of injury. The poor bloke was in agony in the field last game he played, and then this rubbish comes out! #absolutegarbage #indianjournalism #lies,” Marsh’s Australia and Punjab teammate Maxwell tweeted just after the rift in Punjab’s dressing room started circling in the social media. Marsh was among the overseas cricketers who have been ruled out of remainder of IPL 2016 due to an injury. The likes of Steven Smith, Kevin Pietersen, Faf du Plessis and Mitchell Marsh were the cricketers who were forced to bow out of the ninth edition of IPL due to respective injuries. Punjab in a press release had revealed that Marsh senior suffered a back injury and had to fly back to Australia. READ: Shaun Marsh not injured, sent back home

Former Australian and present Punjab teammate Mitchell Johnson also joined in with his support for Marsh as he bashed the Indian media as well. Here is what the pacer said:
Dipankar Lahiri nominated for best “Fiction” story of the year about @shaunmarsh9 disgraceful piece of writing!!

According to a report from Deccan Chronicle, Marsh was the first one to throw a punch. Soon after the incident, David Miller was axed as Punjab’s skipper and Murali Vijay was named his replacement. The source close to the IPL franchise also has suggested that team CEO Fraser Castellino could be one of the fall guys for Punjab’s debacle of a season.
Earlier, there was news about Punjab’s co-owner Preity Zinta had lashed out at her side’s head coach Sanjay Bangar after Punjab’s one-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore However Preity clarified later in a Facebook post that the news was absolutely fake.
Even Bangar cleared the rumours on social media about any fight with the actress. He said, “After our one run defeat against RCB, there was the usual post match discussion on the match with Kings XI owners. Some reports in the media have blown the issue totally out of proportion by fabricating a non-existent chain of events..loss by close margin hurts but team has been playing good cricket. No reported abusive or disrespectful language was against me. Kings XI will continue to fight for its survival in the tournament.”
