Sydney: Australia national selector Rod Marsh has described Glenn Maxwell‘s omission from the team’s Test squad for the tours of West Indies and the Ashes as ‘tragedy’, despite the swashbuckling batsman’s brilliant performance during the just concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.
The big-hitting batsman, however, has been included in an Australia A side which will tour India in July. Maxwell has a mediocre Tests record as he has scored 80 runs at an average of 13.33 in three Tests he played.
