The last day of Champions Trophy 2025 campaign for Pakistan and Bangladesh did not end well as the match was of no significance. The match was already a dead rubber as they had no chances to qualify for the semifinals, the match turned out to be washed off as well.
With that result, Pakistan team is likely going to finish last in the Champions Trophy 2025. The run-rate of the team is -1.087 (negative), which is the worst among all the eight teams competing in the tournament.
Before the match, Pakistan great former cricketer Wasim Akram was asked if the match was for pride. Akram did not hold back and said that the thought of pride comes when the players are thinking about qualification. He further said the teams to just play and return home.
“What pride? I told you not to ask me this question. You play for pride when you have qualification going through your mind. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh will go home after this match. Just play and go home,” Akram replied on a chat show.
