England off-spinner Graeme Swann threw a bombshell by announcing his retirement from international cricket with immediate. Swann had been England’s strike bowler in Tests since making his debut against India at Chennai in 2008. Before the start of the third Ashes 2013-14 Test at Perth, there were rumours that Swann would be dropped from the playing XI, but he was retained and turned to be successful in the first innings. Players, experts and fans expressed their shock over Swann’s announcement. His fellow players also wished him good luck for the future. Below are some reactions.
