Gujarat Lions (GL) take on Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in Match 6 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) at Rajkot. GL beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the first match by five wickets. RPS on the other hand beat Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opening match of the tournament. This will be the first time MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina will be pitted against each other having spent the previous eight years together at Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Aaron Finch performed incredibly well as his fifty guided GL to an easy win. RPS on the other hand batted and bowled very well to restrict MI to just 121 and then chased it down without much sweat. RPS have the likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Faf du Plessis opening for them, who will be entrusted to provide their team off to a good start once again. Despite of being set a stiff target, GL managed to successfully chase the target down without many difficulties. Barring Brendon McCullum, everyone got to spend some time in the middle. GL will want McCullum to fire to ensure that they get a big score on the board. Both won their first match in the tournament, but one team will taste defeat for the first time in the tournament. Whether it will be the hosts or RPS, we will find out at the end of the match.
