Mohammad Hafeez’s knock of 71 and significant contributions by Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal and Rameez Raza powered Pakistan to 198 for four against Zimbabwe in their first Twenty20 international at the Harare Sports Club.

Hafeez hit six boundaries and three sixes in his quickfire innings of 71 off 48 balls. He added 73 runs for the first wicket with Shafiq, who faced 23 balls for his 38 runs hitting six boundaries and a six.

After Shafiq’s dismissal, Hafeez joined forces with Raja to put Pakistan in control of the first of thw two T20 internationals.

Chamu Chibhabha was the only bowler to keep Pakistan batsmen in control, giving away just 17 runs in three overs and dismissing Hafeez.
