Born June 27, 1983 in Phalaborwa, Dale Steyn turns 33 today. The South African pace machine who is known to bowl at a tremendous speed and also possesses the ability to swing the ball both ways is one of South Africa‘s greatest bowlers. One of the most passionate cricketers to have played the game, Steyn is an aggressive team player with a never-say die attitude. Steyn made his Test debut for South Africa in December 2004, when his side was playing against England at Port Elizabeth. He has picked up 406 wickets in 82 Tests, which speaks volumes about the kind of bowler he is. His best figures are 7-51. He has 25 five-wicket hauls to his name. His economy rate of 3.23 is impressive too. In the One-Day format, Steyn has 175 wickets in 112 matches. His best figures are 6-39. His economy rate in ODIs is 4.86. He has played in 42 T20Is for South Africa and managed to get 58 wickets in the format. His best figures consist of 4-9.
Steyn has played for many teams in his career. The fast bowler has played for Essex in the County Championship. In the IPL, Steyn has played for a number of teams including Deccan Chargers, Royal Challengers Bangalore Sunrisers Hyderabad and was with the Gujarat Lions in IPL 2016.
