As Virat Kohli turns 27, many have taken to social media to wish him on his birthday. Kohli is currently in Mohali leading India in the first Test against South Africa. Kohli took over as India’s captain from MS Dhoni, who quit from the longest format during India’s tour of Australia in 2014. Kohli did not have an easy time in the initial stages but would have gotten a lot of confidence after securing a series win in Sri Lanka, which happened for the first time since 1993. Kohli is also tipped to be India’s next limited-overs skipper after the ICC World T20 2016, if Dhoni decided to step down after that.  Scorecard: India vs South Africa 2015, 1st Test, Day 1 at Mohali

Kohli made his international debut in an One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka at Dambulla. Since then he has become one of the integral parts of the Indian dressing room. A Test debut followed in 2011, which came against West Indies at Kingston. Kohli has also led India Under-19 team to a World Cup triumph in 2008. He was part of the Indian team that won the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 as well. Full Updates: India vs South Africa 2015, Day 1 at Mohali

Kohli had a decent ODI series against South Africa recently. He scored a vital century in Chennai that helped his side to a win despite that fact that AB de Villiers scored a ton. Kohli will hope that his side does well India put in a better show in the Test series.
