A total number of 951 players have registered to play in Tamil Nadu Premier League

Brothers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya made it into the players’ draft for the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) . The draft was released on Saturday. A total of 951 players registered to play in TNPL which includes players from other states as well. A few other players who registered to play in TNPL are-  Ravichandran Ashwin, Murali Vijay, Unmukt Chand, Piyush Chawla, Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar. Krunal Pandya came into limelight in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 playing for Mumbai Indians as an all-rounder. According to TOI, as source told them, “All the big players who are registered with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) are there in the draft. We are extremely happy with the players’ response for the tournament. About 180 of them are likely to get picked by the franchises and we want each side to have the best possible squad so that the competition is intense and the crowd gets to see quality cricket.”

The draft was released and sent to franchisees on Saturday evening. “The TNPL officials got together to frame the rules and players’ list and we have sent it across to the franchises so that the next stage of discussion can begin in the coming days. The players will be picked by the franchises on July 22,” the source said. A meeting will be held on Monday where all the franchisees will be invited. “We want to ensure that everyone concerned with the tournament is on the same page,” he added.
