The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave confirmation regarding star pacer Haris Rauf sustaining a muscular sprain in the lower chest region during the opening clash of the tri-nation series against New Zealand.
After the MRI and X-ray scans came in, they revealed the injury not being a serious one. Hence, he has been declared fine to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Even though he is declared fit, Rauf is not going to play in Pakistan’s second clash of the tri-nation series in Karachi. He is going to stay benched as a precautionary measure ahead of the upcoming mega event.
If Pakistan manages to qualify for the tri-nation series final, there is no Intel on Pakistan taking the risk of getting Rauf injured. Pakistan team is going to face New Zealand in the opening clash of the Champions Trophy 2025 on February 19 in Karachi.
