India Women posed a total of 245 for 6 which might have been far sighted for a moment, had it not been for Harmanpreet Kaur’s knock and Veda Krishnamurthy-Shikha Pandey’s 35-run stand for 7th wicket, against Sri Lanka in the first One-Day International (ODI) at Ranchi. Put in to bat, India started off well with Smriti Mandhana and Thirush Kamini adding as many as 71 runs for the first wicket, and Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur putting up strong performances for their side. For Sri Lanka, Udeshika Prabodhani and Shashikala Siriwardane claimed two wickets each and Ama Kanchana and Nilakshi de Silva claiming one each.
