Haryana defeated Uttar Pradesh by three wickets to storm into the final of the 57th National School Games U-14 boys cricket tournament on Thursday.

Haryana defeated Uttar Pradesh by three wickets to storm into the final of the 57th National School Games U-14 boys cricket tournament on Thursday.
All-rounder Gurdeep Singh starred for Haryana, taking three wickets and also contributing 20 runs with the bat.
Electing to bowl first, Haryana bundled out their rivals for 133 in 29.1 overs (maximum 30 overs each).
Number eight batsmen Manjeet Singh top-scored for UP with a knock of 40, while Gurdeep was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-18.
Haryana achieved the target in 29 overs for the loss of seven wickets with useful contribution from opener Prashant Dalal 69 (76b, 10×4).
Manjeet Singh’s impressive figures of 4-15 in six overs only delayed the inevitable for UP.
In the final, Haryana will face Delhi, who defeated Madhya Pradesh by 38 runs.
Batting first, Delhi amassed 191 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 30 overs with substantial knocks from Kunal Dabas (56), Jatin Shokeen (49 not out) and Rishabh Drali (56).

Jatin then captured four wickets for just 26 with his leg spin as Madhya Pradesh’s innings folded up for 153. (PTI)
