Ali was fined 25 percent of his match fees after he was found to have breached Article 2.1.7 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to ‘Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his dismissal during a Match’. He was charged by on-field umpires Ranmore Martinesz and Masudur Rahman Mukul, third umpire Anisur Rahman and fourth umpire Imran Parvez Ripon for pointing towards the dressing room after dismissing Dhaka Dynamites batsman Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. Ali admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Samiur Rahman and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing. In addition to the sanction imposed two (02) demerit points have been added to Ali’s disciplinary record. Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official warning, a maximum penalty of 30 per cent of match fee, and one (01) or two (02) demerit points.
Shakib meanwhile, was fined 50 percent of his match fees for his offensive reaction to an LBW appeal being turned down by the umpire. Article 2.2.4 relates to ‘Using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other third person during a Match’. In addition, three (03) demerit points have been added to Shakib’s disciplinary record.

Level 2 breaches carry a minimum penalty of a fine of 30 percent of the match fees and a maximum penalty of a suspension of one (01) match and three (03) or four (04) demerit points.
