Hashim Amla, the South African run machine scored his 20th One-Day International (ODI) hundred at Canberra against Ireland in the 24th game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. It was a typical Amla innings with lot of class and classical batsmanship. It took only balls for the right-handed opener to reach his milestone. With this hundred Amla is now the joint second highest century maker with AB de Villiers, in this format for South Africa. Herschelle Gibbs is currently sitting at the top of this list with 21 centuries. Live Updates: South Africa vs Ireland
Earlier, South Africa captain AB de Villiers won the toss and elected to bat against Ireland in the World Cup Pool B match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday. Both teams have four points each, but South Africa have played three matches to Ireland’s two. The Proteas retained the same side that trounced the West Indies by 257 runs in Sydney last Friday, with fast bowler Dale Steyn set to play his 100th one-day international. Ireland have dropped Alex Cusack and included an extra slow bowler in off-spinner Andrew McBrine on a dry pitch that promises lots of runs, AFP reported. Live Scorecard: South Africa vs Ireland
