Hashim Amla scored his highest score in One-Day International (ODIs) as South Africa are looking towards 400-run mark in their innings in the 24th game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 against Canberra against Ireland. Amla’s previous highest score was 153 not out against West Indies earlier this year. On Tuesday he shared 207 run partnership with Faf du Plessis, who got out after reaching his fourth hundred. After 41 overs South Africa reached 299 for two. Live Updates: South Africa vs Ireland

Earlier, South Africa captain AB de Villiers won the toss and elected to bat against Ireland in the World Cup Pool B match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday. Both teams have four points each, but South Africa have played three matches to Ireland’s two. The Proteas retained the same side that trounced the West Indies by 257 runs in Sydney last Friday, with fast bowler Dale Steyn set to play his 100th one-day international. Ireland have dropped Alex Cusack and included an extra slow bowler in off-spinner Andrew McBrine on a dry pitch that promises lots of runs, AFP reported. Live Scorecard: South Africa vs Ireland
