Former Australian cricketer-turned-commentator Dean Jones lavished praise on India opener Rohit Sharma on Thursday when a fan asked him to describe Rohit.
The fan took to Twitter and wrote, “One word for Rohit Sharma? @ProfDeano #askProf.”
However, Jones didn’t answer the question in one word, but he heaped praises on the Indian batter. Replying to the supporter, he wrote, Hitman sets the tone for this Indian team. Amazing cricketer.”

Last year, Rohit was promoted as the Indian Test opener, after his inconsistency in the middle-order and he slammed a double-hundred and since there has been no looking back. Following an injury in the ODIs in New Zealand, he had to miss out on the Tests where India was blanked by the hosts.
The Mumbai Indians skipper is also the most successful captain in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the T20 tournament, he has guided them to four titles. In 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019, MI emerged as the winners. In the 2019 World Cup, he became the first batsman to smash as many as five centuries in a single edition of the mega event.
Rohit will be defending the IPL title if the tournament takes place. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and the 21-day lockdown that has been put to effect in India, it looks highly unlikely that the cash-rich tournament will take place.
