‘He will bat at…’: Delhi captain Ayush Badoni reveals Virat Kohli’s batting position in Ranji Trophy

All the fans will be eager to see Virat Kohli as he plays his first Ranji Trophy game after 12-year long gap. Virat Kohli is getting ready for return in Ranji Trophy as he will represent Delhi in the match against Railways, set to begin January 30. Right before the match against Railways, Delhi captain Ayush Badoni revealed Virat Kohli’s batting position in the highly-awaited game.
Badoni has confirmed that Kohli will be batting at no. 4 in the Ranji Trophy match . Kohli will mark his return to the Delhi team after a gap of 12 years. meanwhile, as he looks to regain his form after a disappointing outing in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Kohli’s recent struggles against Australia raised questions about his future in the Test format. As the Indian team regulars like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant have also returned to Ranji Trophy, Kohli decided to follow the route as well.
“He will bat at No. 4. He has told us to be positive and express ourselves confidently. I have played against Virat bhaiyya in the IPL. It is an honour that in back to back matches I have now led Rishabh and Virat bhaiya,” Ayush Badoni said, as quoted by PTI.

Kohli’s journey in Ranji Trophy went from his debut in November 2006 to his last outing in 2012. The star batter’s last appearance for Delhi was in 2012-13 season, which was a time before he had a rise in Test cricket.
