Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar has made a massive claim on social media, days after star player Rohit Sharma called time on his Test career. The batter, who is still active in the ODI circuit, had quite a poor run in India’s past few Tests. Focusing on Rohit’s performances, Manjrekar stated that the star batter’s “days as Test opener were over”.
“164 in his last 15 innings. Out of which 10 were at home v Bangladesh & NZ. Average 10.9. With his current fitness levels…Rohit Sharma’s days as Test opener were over. So…,” Manjrekar wrote on X.

Rohit was made the opener in the Indian Test team back in 2019 and his batting performances had declined especially in the past few years.
Rohit is still the captain of India in the ODI format and it is now the only international format he is active in.
