The first Test’s visitors surrender was the main talking point leading up to the second Test between South Africa and India in Cape Town. The Indian cricket squad lead by Rohit Sharma had the odds stacked against them following an innings-and-32-run loss in Centurion. But the Indian cricket team was quick to exact its vengeance, taking just 107 overs to do so. India won the match by seven wickets in less than five hours and tied the two-match series 1-1, their first in 13 years in South Africa.
As a result, this is the shortest Test match to have produced a result in the 147-year history of the format (counting the number of balls bowled).
The shortest Test match that ended in a result occurred in Melbourne in 1932 between Australia and South Africa. Australia won that match despite just 109.2 overs (656 balls) being played. There were 642 balls in the second Test between South Africa and India.
Fans were overjoyed after India’s win and Bumrah received heaps of praises:
Well. That is that.#SAvsIND #CapetownTest

It was @mdsirajofficial in the first innings and it was @Jaspritbumrah93 in the second. Elite exhibition of fast bowling helps India level the test series. The boys have shown excellent application on the field. Well… pic.twitter.com/R2o8md2KkP

To bat in a bowler's paradise is a big Test.
Some great bowling performances and a brave knock from Markram on such a tricky pitch. Would have loved to see another Test in this intense series for a decider.#SAvIND
Congrats to Team India on a phenomenal win! Your collective efforts shone today. Special shoutout to Bumrah and Siraj for their crucial bowling contributions. Truly a team to be proud of! #INDvsSA 🏏🇮🇳 @BCCI pic.twitter.com/1sRRTyuTzg
