Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the 14th match of the ongoing ICC World Cricket League Championship 2015-17 between UAE and Hong Kong at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Wednesday. Hong Kong pulled off a comfortable 89-run victory in the previous game between the two sides at the same venue on Monday. The victory put them in the fourth spot in the points table which is currently topped by Kenya, while UAE sit on the fifth spot with just two points from three games (one won and two lost). Mark Chapman led the way for Hong Kong’s dominant batting performance, slamming a 116-ball 124 that included 11 fours and two sixes, while Babar Hayat was the next-highest scorer with a 57-ball 45, as Hong Kong finished on a commanding score of 298 for 4.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE UAE 146  in 40.1 overs │ Target 283 | BATTING: Zaheer Maqsood 8(36): Shaiman Anwar fails to judge a Haseeb Amjad’s ball and gets out bowled for 71. Anwar hit eight boundaries and a six in his knock. Qadeer Ahmed who came next does not troubles the scorers and gets out for two. With this, Hong Kong win the match by 136 runs. Tanwir Afzal who slammed 73 off 33 odd balls and then also chipped in with the ball by picking three wickets was adjudged player of the match. OUT! Shaiman Anwar b Haseeb Amjad 71(99), OUT! Qadeer Ahmed b Anshuman Rath 2(14)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE UAE 140/8  in 34 overs │ Target 283 | BATTING: Zaheer Maqsood 5(17), Shaiman Anwar 71(95): UAE have reached 140 but have lost eight wickets in the endeavour. Shaiman Anwar is batting on 71 with the help of eight boundaries and one shot for the maximum. Zaheer Maqsood is the new batsman on the crease, he is batting on five. UAE needs 143 more runs to win off 96 balls, almost impossible considering that they have just two wickets in hand. Let’s see if Shaiman Anwar gets to his century or not. Good bowling by Hong Kong esp. by Tanwir Afzal and Nadeem Ahmed who have picked three wickets each. OUT! Umair Ali c Babar Hayat b Nadeem Ahmed 10(19), OUT! Nasir Aziz lbw b Anshuman Rath 1(3), OUT! Ahmed Raza c&b Nadeem Ahmed 0(5)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE UAE 92/5  in 20 overs │ Target 283 | BATTING: Umair Ali 7(14), Shaiman Anwar 32(41):  Abdul Shakoor gets out after scoring a patient 20. He was caught by Chapman on the bowling of Nadeem Ahmed. Shaiman Anwar has struck four shots to the fence so far. UAE requires that he converts this start into a big score. He is well supported at the other end by Umair Ali. UAE requires 191 runs to win off 180 balls from here on. It’s very difficult since half of their side is back in the dugout. OUT! Abdul Shakoor c Chapman b Nadeem Ahmed 20(37)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE UAE 52/4  in 10 overs │ Target 283 | BATTING: Abdul Shakoor 9(15), Shaiman Anwar 12(18):  UAE have started very poorly in reply to Hong Kong’s mammoth score of 283. They are four down for just 52 runs in 10 overs. At present Abdul Shakoor and Shaiman Anwar are at the crease batting on nine and 12 respectively. UAE need 231 runs to win in 40 overs. UAE desperately needs a big partnership or else this match will be soon over for them. Also, this is the last recognised batting pair, hence this is the best time for building a good partnership. OUT!  Amjad Ali c Carter b Haseeb Amjad 14(8), OUT! Usman Mushtaq lbw b Tanwir Afzal 3(7), OUT! SP Patil c Carter b Tanwir Afzal 8(7), OUT! L Sreekumar c Carter b Tanwir Afzal 4(6)

LIVE CRICKET SCORE Hong Kong 133/4 in 30 overs │ BATTING: Nizakat Khan 9(11), Waqas Khan 0(5): Rath completes his half-century with the help of four boundaries, before his innings comes to an end thanks to a run-out, with Hong Kong losing their third wicket with 113 on board. LIVE CRICKET SCORE Hong Kong 63/1 in 15 overs │ BATTING: Anshuman Rath 30(40): Rath and Barkat are looking strong at the moment, having completed the 50-run opening stand in the 12th over of the innings. LIVE CRICKET SCORE Hong Kong 44/0 in 10 overs │ BATTING: Waqas Barkat 20(34), Anshuman Rath 21(26): The opening duo have added 44 runs for the opening wicket so far after the passage of 10 overs, and have got their side off to a good start so far in their innings. Five boundaries dispatched by Rath and Barkat so far.

LIVE CRICKET SCORE Hong Kong 17/0 in 5 overs │ BATTING: Waqas Barkat 10(18), Anshuman Rath 4(12): The visitors are off to a slow start after electing to bat, scoring at a notch over three per over after the passage of five overs. Qadir Ahmed and Umair Ali have opened the bowling for UAE, and will be desperate to get a wicket any time now.

UAE never stood a chance in their reply after losing the early wicket of Asif Iqbal, who was dismissed off the bowling of Haseeb Amjad for 8. Shaiman Anwar, who shone brilliantly with the bat during the ICC World Cup earlier this year (featuring among the leading run-getters until the end of the group stages), led the way with the bat with a knock of 76 off 64 deliveries (12 fours), which guided the hosts to a score of 101 for 2. The middle-order however, failed to support his innings as the pressure kept climbing on the hosts, as they eventually were bowled out for a lowly 209, with Anshuman Rath (3 for 22) and Amjad (3 for 49) topping the charts among the Hong Kong bowlers with three-wicket hauls.
