India cricketer Yuvraj Singh said on Sunday he was ‘absolutely stumped’ by the hospitality and gave thumbs up to Bahrain, after the country successfully hosted the Formula 1 race amidst political unrest.
“This is a fantastic circuit and the people here are amazing. I have been absolutely stumped with the hospitality. It’s wonderful. It’s a shame there has been so much said about Bahrain. I have had a wonderful time visiting friends and interacting with fans,” Yuvraj said.
The star Indian cricketer went to Bahrain to watch the race at the Bahrain International Circuit, and toured various team garages and pit lanes.
Yuvraj met His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Yuvraj was accompanied by Bollywood actor and popular television host Rannvijay Singh. They were in Bahrain at the invitation of well-known businessman Mohammed Dadabhai and his family.
“I have felt completely at ease and have been relaxing for the last four days,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by the Gulf Daily News.
“I had to go somewhere to rest for a while and relax and I am glad to be here. I had heard so much about Bahrain from friends so I just took this opportunity to be here to coincide with the Bahrain Grand Prix,” he added.
