Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming addressed speculation regarding MS Dhoni’s retirement as he said that the wicketkeeper batter is still going strong. His remarks came after the five time IPL champions suffered a 25 run defeat against Delhi Capitals at MA Chidambaram Stadium in IPL 2025.

CSK lost their third consecutive match in the ongoing IPL as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side failed to chase down the 184 agaisnt Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals

As soon as the match between CSK and DC began at Chepauk, rumours started circulating on social media that MS Dhoni might retire after the game, as his parents were spotted watching the match from the stands.

“No, that’s not my role to put an end to it. I have no idea. I’m just enjoying working with him still. He’s still going strong. I don’t even ask these days. You are the ones who ask.” Fleming said during the post match press conference.

In the match against Delhi Capitals, Dhoni came out to bat at No. 7. The right-handed batter remained unbeaten on 30 off 26 balls, including one four and one six. However, the 43-year-old showed little intent to find boundaries regularly, even as the required run rate climbed above 15 at one stage.

Earlier, Dhoni was retained by CSK for 4 crore as a uncapped player.
