India’s batting maestro Virat Kohli has given a small subtle hint towards his retirement from Test cricket in next few years. When speaking at an event, he might have given a subtle hint about him bidding farewell to the longest format of the game as he said, “I am at peace with whatever happened in the past.”
Virat Kohli gained fame after he performed brilliantly in the 2011/12 series. However, ever since he gave a below-par performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, people have started questioning his place in the Test team.
“I actually don’t know what I will be doing post-retirement. Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of travelling. I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past,” Virat said during an event on Saturday, March 15.

Virat Kohli also made his debut in Test captaincy in Australia. He led India in the first match of the 2014/15 series. Then, he later took the duty on a full-timer after MS Dhoni’s retirement following the third Test of the four-match series.
