Usman Khawaja says he has zero desire to take his kids to cricket in England after the kind of language he has heard from the terraces and has condemned the abuse of cricketers on tours to both England and Australia.
During the lunch break on the final day of the Lord’s Test, Khawaja pointed out individual members to MCC staff and Australian team security for abuse that he faced. The incidents were even captured on video.
The MCC is conducting an investigation into those matters, and Khawaja was careful not to return to them. Yet, he expressed that there had been a great deal of horrendous language used at the Australian players and their families in England, to the degree that he would have anticipated that the crowd would report it.
Harry Brook hit a crucial 75, followed by Chris Woakes (32 not out) and Mark Wood (16 not out) staying till the end to secure a gripping three-wicket victory for England over Australia on day four of the third Ashes Test at Headingley.
England named an unchanged 14-player squad for the fourth Test of the Ashes 2023 series to be played at Old Trafford from July 19.
The hosts are currently chasing a 2-1 series lead of the Aussies and will like to level it in the fourth Test. It won’t be an easy task considering the dominant performance of the visitors but England would like to ride on their winning momentum and make the comeback in the series
