Two of England‘s key batsmen posted centuries on the final day of the opening match of their Ashes 2013-14 tour against the Western Australia Chairman’s XI in Perth on Saturday.
At lunch on the third and final day, England were 378 for six in reply to the home team’s 451 for five.
Jonathan Trott was unbeaten on 108, with Steven Finn on 15.
Ian Bell, who led the aggregates in the Ashes 2013 series earlier this year, retired on 115, he and Trott putting on 197 in commanding fashion.
However, the spot at No 6 in the English batting order still appears open for the first Test at the Gabba in Brisbane starting on November 21, after two of the hopefuls fell cheaply.
Both Gary Ballance and Ben Stokes failed.
