Ian Bell’s stroked a brilliant 126 runs from 117 balls in the fourth One day International between England and West indies at Rose Bowl.
Having won the toss, West Indies captain Darren Sammy put England top bat first. His decision to bowl first gave rich dividends early on in the innings as England lost their skipper Alastair Cook, who got out without scoring a run.
Ian Bell got a chance to start in the playing XI following the surprising retirement of Kevin Pietersen from One Day Internationals and T20 Cricket.
Earlier, West Indies star opener Chris Gayle, who had been due to end his 15-month exile from international cricket by playing in this match following a dispute with Caribbean cricket officials, was ruled out with a left shin injury.
