Cricket’s governing body will hold its annual conference in Australia for the first time next June, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced.
The ICC has chosen the Victoria state capital of Melbourne in the build-up to the ICC World Cup 2015, to be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand in February and March 2015.
“The ICC Annual Conference 2014 will take place in Australia for the first time in its history after Melbourne was awarded the right to host world cricket’s biggest annual gathering,” said an ICC release.
The week-long Conference will be attended by senior decision-makers from over 50 cricket-playing countries, the ICC said.
Melbourne joins the prestigious list of conference host cities, which include London (2013, 2009), Kuala Lumpur (2012), Hong Kong (2011), Singapore (2010) and Dubai (2008).
