Rain interrupted play during the ICC T20 World Cup Group B match between West IndiesIreland at Colombo on Monday.

 

Ireland had reached 33 at the loss of one wicket before rain showers stopped the play at the end of the fifth over.

 

Paul Stirling was unbeaten on 16, while Ed Joyce was batting on 17. The only wicket to fall was that of Ireland’s skipper William Porterfield for naught.

 

Earlier, West Indies skipper Darren Sammy won the toss and chose to field.

 

West Indies have made two changes to their side bringing in Andre Russell for the injured Dwayne Bravo and Darren Bravo replacing Dwayne Smith.

 

Ireland have made one change, with Boyd Rankin failing to recover from his stomach bug and Max Sorensen coming into the side.
